Overview of Initiative

With the help of the PG Family Foundation, Lennon Educational Tour Bus, and the Sager Family Traveling Foundation and Roadshow Liyana was able to perform in the United States in over 25 concerts ranging from Stanford University to Disneyland to the House of Blues. Led by Prudence Mabhena who suffers from Arthrogryphosis, this group of 8 uses marimbas, African shakers, piano, keyboard, and drums to spread their message and upbeat tunes. Their musical style includes elements of Reggae, Gospel, Pop, Folk, and Zimbabwean Shona music. Liyana’s music was featured on this website’s introduction video.

KGVI’s motto of “Never Give Up” resonates with the Sager Family Traveling Foundation and Roadshow’s belief of the transformational power of hope. As a concrete example of the connections between the two, Bobby’s photos from Invisible Sun, the dynamic set of 49 photos that were displayed during the 2007-2008 reunion tour of the Police and shown in over 40 counties to over 4 million people around the world, were shown at three of Liyana’s concerts.
